Ingredients
1 1/3 cups (170g) Bleached All-Purpose Flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter (112g or 1 stick) LIGHTLY softened- I only microwave for approximately 15 seconds
1 egg
1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar- light or dark will both work perfectly
1/3 cup (70g) granulated sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
Any add-ins (I like to use milk chocolate chips and peanut butter chips)
Flaky sea salt
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- In a stand mixer, cream together the two sugars and lightly softened butter until combined. It should look like a paste. Once you reached a paste consistency, add in the egg and vanilla. Use the mixer to combine that (approximately 30seconds).
- Add in all the dry ingredients into the bowl of the stand mixer. Mix until dough has just come together and there are still some streaks of flour in the dough. Add you mix-ins (chocolate chips, pretzels, etc.). Mix until the mix-ins are evenly distributed and no more flour streaks.
- Place a heaping tablespoon on dough on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake cookies for 12-15 minutes. Allow them to cook slightly and then place on a plate or wire cooling rack. Enjoy! 🙂
